It has been reported that the cost of dropping off passengers at Leeds Bradford airport (LBA) has increased by 50 per cent. In addition ot the increase thay have also provided a new free parking zone for up to ne hour which is situated close to the airport terminal building.
The cost rise is for the express car park which is used as a short term drop off at the airport. It is located outside the main Leeds Bradford Airport terminal and is one of the handiest parking places at the site. The cost has increased from a managable £2 to £3 which is for up to 30 minutes parking.
The price rise has been counteracted with the provision of some extra free parking that is situated only four minutes walk from the main terminal building. The free four up to one hour parking spaces are situated in the mid stay car park. The parking that is free offers all passengers they chance to take advantage of the free parking zone which is ideal for the pickup and drop off of passengers.
The new area is signposted from all of the routes in to the airport making it easy to find for all drivers. The route to the main terminal building is by an upgraded walkway to the new entrance that is on Whitehouse lane.
A recent airport parking study by website Airport Parking and Hotels which was carried out last year came up with the following information. Out of the 24 major British airports only 6 allow drivers to drop-off plane passengers extremely close to or directly in front of the main terminal building at no cost. Once a free and easy way to drop off passengers is now a more complicated process that can cost a few quid.
